As the seasons change throughout the year, so may our taste for wine. Each season not only brings us its special characteristics from Mother Nature, but also great treats for our palates. It seems that each fall we look forward to the changing colors around us and our favorite fall flavors. There’s tons of excitement every fall for things like pumpkin spiced lattes, spiced apple cider and pumpkin pie. But what about your wine? Yes, of course we may have our favorite go-to wine varietal that we can always count on to enjoy, but fall can be a wonderful time to change it up and excite our taste buds. Put down your chardonnay for a minute and give some of these great fall varietals a try. Here are 5 fabulous wines to drink this fall.
Pinots are a great wine for the palate. A lighter to medium bodied, fruit-forward red wine. High acidity and low tannins. Flavors and aromas include roses, fruits, black cherry, berry, and currant. Lush, velvety finish. Pinot Noir is perfect for a dinner party or just a quite evening at home. It is delicious with aged or strong cheeses, bold spices, charcuterie, citrus and fish.
Grassetto Rosso is a delicious blend of Merlot, Malbec, and Syrah. This is a big, smooth, complex wine. Mid palate has Malbec features and dry Syrah finish. Many Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot drinkers enjoy this perfect for fall blend.
Syrahs are typically big and bold reds. Our Avanti Syrah is mellow as Syrahs go. The mid-pallet features Bing cherry notes, followed by a spicy dry finish.
Viognier is a favorite white wine for fall. While light and crisp our Viognier is very nicely balanced. This dry finish wine has tasty undertones of citrus fruits, with a peach nose, and flower boutique.
Again a light and crisp blend, our 3 Paisanos is an Avanti Winery favorite. 3 Paisanos is a careful blend of Chardonnay, Viognier, and a dry Riesling and is aged in steel tanks. You will enjoy the citrus with lemon and grapefruit notes from our best-selling white wine.
